Here's some stuff I like:
- Composers as Gardeners - Interesting topic presented by Brian Eno about different levels of control vs surrender, in composition and broadly in other areas as well. Inspiring.
- Computer Chronicles - A classic TV show all about what was going on with computers at the time. An interesting time capsule.
- Decker - A sleek multimedia creation tool inspired by Hypercard (rip). Can build all sorts of neat stuff with it.
- The Demo - Also known as "The Mother of all Demos". A fascinating presentation given in 1968 showing many firsts in computing. A lot of the stuff shown is now common, but it must have been mind blowing at the time. Watch it on YouTube.
- Homestar Runner - Classic! Still going strong thanks to Ruffle - Flash Emulator.
- Ludum Dare - A giant online game jam that I often participate in. The first one I did was in 2011. I'm on quite the streak now, having not missed a single one since #42, which was in 2018. They migrated websites at some point so all the older entries are only in the wayback machine. You can see all my entries since then here: KhaoTom's LDJam games.
- Marginalia Search - Awesome alternative search engine when I'm looking for some long form reading. The random button is great!
- Quarter to Three - One of my favorite sites and community about games and movies.
- TreeSheets - An alternative to using spreadsheets for many information management tasks. I use it extensively for design and scheduling.
